Our Story
Kazimah Carpets is a boutique carpet shop that sources high-quality, handwoven carpets, textiles and handicrafts from all over the Middle East and India. My name is Josh, and my wife Jackie and I are educators who live with our three children Jorge, Joaquin and Jada in Kuwait City, Kuwait. We are dedicated to sustainability and the promotion of a positive perception of the Middle East. We love education and hope that our company can be used to bridge the gap between East and West. We love our planet and believe that investing into handmade, biodegradable, long-lasting textiles is a great way to work towards a better future.
"Kazimah"(Kadhma in Arabic) was an ancient settlement in Kuwait used as a trading post and resting place for pilgrims in the Middle Ages. As with modern day Kuwait, this area was strategically located right in the path of trading routes linking Persia, Mesopotamia and India to the Arabian Peninsula. Though the caravans have been replaced with cars and planes, the carpets of Persia, Mesopotamia and beyond are still being traded in this ancient and beautiful city.
